📗 New author, new chapter and new AI tools

Hello Reader,

Issue #15 of the Espresso AI newsletter lands this Thursday and it's a new chapter for the newsletter!

Having been our resident AI expert for some time, Jo Munro has decided the time is right to hand over the reins and I’m delighted to share that the brilliant Martha Kilner will be writing Espresso AI going forward.

Jo says:

“When I started the newsletter, my goal was to help busy VAs make practical sense of AI tools and industry changes in the tech space. However, since selling the VA Handbook, my interests are increasingly centred around creativity and human-led work rather than AI systems and workflows.

Because of this, it feels like the right time to hand Espresso AI over to someone who is genuinely excited by AI and where it’s heading.

I’m very pleased that expert VA and AI enthusiast, Martha Kilner, will now be taking over the newsletter. She uses AI extensively in her VA work, has a real interest in the tools and developments, and is a much better fit for the newsletter going forward.

Martha has been going really deep with AI workflows and systems lately. She's also extremely passionate about the subject so I know you will be in very good hands."

A huge thanks to Jo for all her support and time for a preview of what paid subscribers are getting this month.

Meet Martha Kilner. She uses AI every day in real client work - not as a hobby, not to keep up with trends - and she plans to tell you what actually works.

Martha is an Online Business Manager who runs Any Other Business and she started out as a virtual assistant in January 2024, after two redundancies and nearly twenty years in education. Check out her interview with Jo last year or read a bit more about her journey here.

Here's what's in store for you in this month's issue:

  1. Meet Martha and the background that meant Holly (and Jo!) trusted her to take the reins.

  2. The voice dictation tool Martha uses for client work and a comparison that might change how you handle written tasks.

  3. The Canva update that VAs are telling her has saved them hours. She’ll show you what it actually looks like in practice.

  4. The AI email tool that’s coming for VA work. Martha told two of her own clients to get it anyway. She’ll explain why.

  5. A simple trick for getting ChatGPT to recreate an image style so you don’t have to start from scratch every time.

  6. Three AI updates from April and May that are actually worth your attention.

All of this is for paid subscribers only.

It's £4.99 a month. One email, once a month, no fluff. Cancel any time, and yes, it counts as a business expense.

Subscribe and get Issue #15 on Thursday.

Best wishes, Holly

PS: Already subscribed to Espresso AI? Then you're all sorted. Just sit back and wait for the next issue to ping into your inbox at 11am on Thursday.

Helloo! If you’re in the UK (or anywhere in Europe in fact), I hope you’ve survived this week’s heatwave. My coping methods have included the fan being on when at my desk, keeping the blinds closed and plenty of ice-pops throughout the day! 🥶 Anyway, back to business. With another change of Prime Minster on the horizon in the UK, you might be wondering what this means for your business. Right now, it’s probably not very much. Whenever there’s political or economic uncertainty, it’s easy to...

Hello lovelies,I’m back home after a fab few days in Newcastle for Atomicon ’26. It’s been a hectic week but great to catch up with so many of you (sorry to those I didn’t manage to grab a pic with, I’m pretty rubbish at remembering to get my 📸 out!). For those of you who don’t know what Atomicon is all about, it’s a sales and marketing conference you can attend virtually or in person and there are a ton of sessions with some awesome speakers as well as a ton of virtual events throughout the...
