๐Ÿ˜ The best investment I made for my VA business

Hello Reader,
โ€‹
In last week's episode of The Visionary VA podcast I shared 8 lessons that I wish I'd known sooner when starting my VA business. Today, as a follow up on that, I want to share something that has completely transformed my business and my mindset.
โ€‹
โ€‹Investing in coaching and personal development.
โ€‹
โ€‹
If you've ever thought "I can figure this out on my own", or "coaching is a luxury I can't afford", I totally get it and, at times, I've felt the same way. But looking back, I can confidently say that every major leap in my business has come from investing in myself first.
โ€‹
It's one thing to consume free content on YouTube, in books or on podcasts, and trust me, I do a lot of that too. But it's another thing entirely to have someone who can look at your specific situation and help you implement strategies in a way that makes sense for you.

Here are 4 major investments I made for my business and myself:

  1. When I started out as a Virtual Assistant I invested in the DIY VA course that I now offer to others. It helped me set up a VA business with a strong foundation.
    โ€‹
  2. 3 years later I was massively overwhelmed, as Virtually Priceless (my VA business), was growing more quickly than I could handle. So, I made my next big investment which was 1:1 business coaching. After 4 years, I still use many of the key lessons and strategies I learned on a daily basis.
    โ€‹
  3. I had therapy. Yep, I took the plunge on finally dealing with some fairly hefty challenges in my personal life and worked with an incredible executive and life coach to help overcome them.
    โ€‹
  4. Earlier this year I applied and was selected for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Programme. It's was an epic three months of learning, growing and being inspired by not only some fantastic speakers, but also by the other incredible founders who were part of my group.
    โ€‹

I've also taken numerous smaller courses over the years from building my own website to better blogging, learning marketing skills, and upscaling in sales training. And I've joined membership and mastermind groups along the way.
โ€‹
โ€‹Every time I've invested in coaching, I've seen a return, whether in revenue, time saved or confidence gained.
โ€‹
โ€‹
I know that without investing in myself and my business, I wouldn't be the business owner, team leader, mum, partner, or friend that I am today. The biggest transformation by far that coaching has given me has been the shift in my mindset.
โ€‹
โ€‹Ready to invest in yourself and your VA business?โ€‹
โ€‹
Then I recommend you take a moment to reflect. Where are you struggling in your business right now? Do you need support with mindset, scaling your business, or building a team. Do you have some personal issues to unpack? Do your research and find the right person, group, membership, course etc which will help you.
โ€‹
And if you're interested in working with me, did you know I offer mentoring sessions for VAs where I'm always happy to share my experience and knowledge to help you make the changes you need in your VA business.

That's all for this week, I hope you are taking some time to enjoy the sunshine!
โ€‹
Best wishes,
Holly x

Hi Reader,Remember that exciting project Iโ€™ve been teasing for the past few weeks?Wellโ€ฆ I can FINALLY tell you what it is. ๐ŸฅณThis September, Iโ€™m launching All Stars - a brand new community for established VAs who want to grow their businesses, make things happen and have access to some incredible people around them while they do it.And honestly, itโ€™s something I wish Iโ€™d had when I was growing my own business. One of the things Iโ€™ve realised over the past eight years is that running a business...

Hi Reader,Have you ever read a book that just hits you right when you need it? Like it was written just for you? Well, for me, that book was She Means Business by Carrie Green, founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association. There were so many golden nuggets in this book, but I thought I'd share three of the lessons that truly transformed my mindset and, in turn, my business. 1. The power of belief Carrie talks a lot about believing in yourself first, even when the results aren't there yet....

Hello Reader,Would you be offended if someone described your business as boring?I think a few years ago I probably would have been. But eight years into running my business, I've started to think that a little bit of boring might actually be something to aim for. Predictable income. Reliable systems. Consistent marketing. Clients who know exactly what to expect. A team who understands how things work. It might not make for the most exciting Instagram post, but it does make for a business that...
